It's so great to see your place finally coming together like this, after all the looong istory of setbacks you had along the way!

(though it's likely I was and still am misunderstanding him - you'll see he gets a little impatient with me at one point). He's like that! The guy is a software and math genius, and understands his field amazingly. But like most geniuses, he can be a bit short with the rest of us average Joe's! He ...

This front wall not finish , i want to cover it with stone variable depth , and for now not have big speakers to flush mounting If you completely cover that front wall with stone, or any other solid surface, then the hangers behind that will not be doing anything at all. Hangers only work when they...

4264 I’ve finally uploaded all my time lapse build videos. There are 6 in total each about 1-2 minutes long so they don’t really make it look as much work as it was over 6 months! Nice work, Gareth! Great videos. Makes it look soooo simple! It takes less than 15 minutes to build a studio! I...

Stand alone “room in a room” studio build ORANGE NSW Australia
I’ve changed the sizing of my rooms OK, but I would suggest a couple of other changes: First, try moving the doors out of the corners of the rooms. Corners are often very useful for acoustic treatment, especially bass traps, because you get more "bang for your buck" in corners. So I would...

3877 I reckon the best solution is to have it done in hardware. Minidsp do boxes for this, and I think Stuart has recommended a Behringer FBQ unit for his final digital tuning. Right.... sort of! The issue with the Behringer boxes is that they don't handle MIDI very well. MIDI is the only real way ...

4172 I did wonder about a two fan system. Definitely worth considering. It can work, yes. But if you go that route, it's best to get two of the same model fan if you can. One issue is to get them balanced so they are moving the same amount of air. It's not so good if you have one running at a speed...

Spinning sound waves.... :)
Did you know that acoustic foam works by making sound waves "spin and bounce"? I kid you not: spin-and-bounce.jpg Fascinating! I never knew that. You learn something new every day... You can find some more ...ummm "creative" explanations about acoustics and acoustic products here...

A perennial favorite among audiophiles is, of course, debating the relative merits of different types of speaker cable. As everyone knows, every single extra dollar you pay for a speaker cable will exponentially increase the purity, clarity, depth, and utter listening pleasure of the pristine sounds...

That is interesting! Something seems strange there. I'll send a message to John Mulcahy (the developer) and see if he can shed some light on this. Maybe it is phase-related, or simply due to the two measurements not being taken exactly identically... or gremlins in the software!

Found the link! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImoQqNyRL8Y Put on your best headphones, and keep your hand on the volume control! It's pretty awesome, actually. Especially the re-entry sonic boom shock-waves, recorded very clearly. (The narrator knows his stuff, too, and certainly doesn't lack enth...
