He had been updating the Filter based on Feedback I sent ... but then went much further. Using Windows 'Assist' , He we...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

UPDATE: Earlier this evening I was able to re-shoot the Room with all the treatment installed [to this point at least]. As recommended, I returned the Monitors to their 'flat' setting [which I had previously a -2dB MID cut]. One monitor at a time at 80dB SPL ... 3 times each side. I'm attaching the ...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

5492 try both - one or the other. if you're doing a detailed filtering - i'd reset the mid setting. Hi Gullfo, I looked at the current correction IR ... he did a very detailed filter. What was a surprise ... how 'natural' it sounds. Soundworks correction never sounded this good. [at least I got a c...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

Thanks Gullfo. I've been in 'listen mode' for the past few days. [still using the 'old' calibration file at times] Also going through a few Tracks and some new plugins that have been recently added. Coming up [soon] will be re-shooting the room. Which brings up a question ... The last time I shot, I...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

UPDATE: The 2 pieces of the equation were installed this afternoon. It went rather smoothly too :D First up was an added absorber on the upper, back wall [left side]. It is the 'short wall' of the room. IMG_2651.jpg Then, it was to the corner area above the doors. IMG_2652.jpg Haven't had much time ...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

Quick Update: Finished up the panels for the hallway. The mounting design worked great [yeah]. As for the 'look' ... well, I hope it will be OK ... the panel colors are similar to the wall color. Here's a quick pix [excuse the mess  ] IMG_2646.jpg Not going to do anymore out in that area ... t...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

UPDATE: I don't know why I waited so long ... they had a SALE today ... had to do it  IMG_2643.jpg After hurting myself with the portable, hand drill stand I'd been using .... I was on the look out for a decent Drill Press. Nothing crazy, elaborate ... They had a sale today over at Harbor Fre...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

UPDATE: So ... for that back, upper left side treatment, I want to extend the current absorber with an addition, 2' x 2' x 6" panel. I went with a different design than I used to build all my other panels [frames built from aluminum drywall, corner molding]. This time, because of the 1/2 size, ...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

pix update Finally the Cloud sent the picture to my PC. IMG_2624.jpg I have the old Craftsman vice, board mounted on my mitre saw stand. In the vice is a metal bar [solid, very heavy] that I've had for as long as I can remember ... no idea what its made of ... but it sure came in handy as a flat, an...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

ah ... by the time I got back to your post, I had already committed the design to fit straight on that back wall above the panel there. I did it as another 'open design, with all surfaces exposed. I'll have to see how or what that treatment goes. It is the 'short wall' in the Room ... even though I'...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

Have a question brewing ... Here's a pix showing the back, left side of room, looking up at the corner ceiling. [this is the 'short wall'] IMG_2622.jpg That wall area is also the same wall that the Main A/C vent draws air IN. But I'm looking at that from the inside, and of course the monitors 'hit' ...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

Sitting in the Control Room, I turn to look at the view to the hallway. IMG_2618.jpg On the left side is where the main entrance door is, and to the right is into the living room [through the door is the mudroom]. The first area I'm looking at is here above the doors. IMG_2619.jpg Across the area wh...

Ah yes ... the verification photos ... Sometimes we have to update the workspace we use to make the stuff we need for the Studio ... And so is the case with my little Work Shop area [located in the unfinished side of basement]. So the newest update .... above the Compound Mitre Saw, we now have an o...

Up All Nite Studio - 2022 [Control Room]

5427 some heavy drapes on the open door should quell the hallway enough while leaving a LF path to exit... Thanks Gullfo ... Listening again today, the 'hallway' sound is rather distant and very quick ... and the level is low actually. From my sitting position, there is a hard wall directly behind ...
