Real cheap cables...

Maybe you've heard of "Fake News"? The same happens in the world of acoustics! Here's a place for discussing acoustic myths, legends, mysteries, "questionable" treatment, scams, hoaxes, and just plain old bad information about acoustics, sound, and audio.

Real cheap cables...

A perennial favorite among audiophiles is, of course, debating the relative merits of different types of speaker cable. As everyone knows, every single extra dollar you pay for a speaker cable will exponentially increase the purity, clarity, depth, and utter listening pleasure of the pristine sounds coming out of your speakers. And I just came across these, which seem to be the best value for money in that department:

Warning! Sit down and take a deep breath before you read the price tag!

Yes, that's correct: It is not a typo. You can actually get these absolutely amazing 6-foot long speaker wires for just fifty THOUSAND dollars a pair! Unbelievable as that may seem, it is TRUE! You can get your very own pair (right after you get a second mortgage, sell your car, and max out your credit card), here:

Better order yours now, before they run out. At that price, they'll be selling almost like this product!

Hurry! While stocks last! You'll never see this unreal price again! I'm sure those wires are worth every single cent!

(Even though they would probably come out second best in a double-blind listening test, up against some really tough competition, such as a pair of these:

PS. In case you are wondering: If you do need long runs of cable in your studio, from your amp to your passive speakers, what I normally recommend, is this:

Chop off the plugs, strip the ends, and add whatever terminals you need. It works just fine, has low resistance, takes high voltage and high current without breaking a sweat, and can handle pretty much anything you could possibly throw at it, even when you turn it up to eleven! Oh, and you can buy quite a bit of that stuff for the cost of the Emperor cables! Probably enough to go half way around the planet...)

Makes Monster Cables look like they're from Dollar General (or Poundland for our UK friends).
